Outside time during Winter Days

Winter is here but it won't deter us from going outide. We sure did have fun. We made cookies in our pretend house, joined a tricycle club and ran around and sang "Let it Go". We had a blast.

Doing Mitzvahs on Chanukah

On Chanukah it is a custom to give presents and do mitzvahs. Some friends brought presents for our class to use. For our celebration we made popcorn, donuts, potatoes latkes and gave tzeduka to the poor people. We learned that our pushka was empty and now we will need more tzeduka coins to make the pushka full again.
Ethan donated to the class a gumball grabber.
Amalia brought the class a tzdukah box and so did Benjamin. We are so excited to use them and do more mitzvah's.
Our class came to Mrs. Inna and gave her the coins we collected for the poor people.
Our fresh popcorn popping.
Morah Tammy making yummy donuts.

We were all excited when the food processor was making loud noises when the potatoes were spinning. Not everyone wanted to eat the latkes at first but when we tried it, it was all gone :)

Chanukah Dimond lights.

Chanukah is a time of celebrating the miricals that Hashem has created around us and the time of lighting beautiful candles. We have had the pleasure of    lighting our candles in class everyday. We have been learning about the mirical of the candles and the shape the lights make. We created our own memorahs and lit them with our Dimond lights. The shape of the week we have focused on has been the shape Dimond.

CHANUKAH AND LETTER SHIN

Nursery 2 has learned a new letter. The new letter is SHIN. Our friend Shaina starts with the letter SHIN. Morah taught us that on Chanukah the helper candle used to light the other candles starts with the letter shin also. It is called the shamash.0
Our class spent a lot of time discussing the new holiday coming up- Chanukah. We learned all about the story about Judah and the Maccabees and how they protected the Jewish people from the mean King Antiochus. who didn't allow the Jewish people to do mitzvot or learn Torah or daven to hashem. This made the jewish people feel sad. They didnt want to listen to king antiochus and would trick them by playing the game of dreidal when the Greeks would come and check to make sure they werent doing mitzvot or learning torah. All they saw was them playing with their dreidals.
We have been spending time making prjects and singing songs getting ready for your recital coming up on friday- we cant wait to see you all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAYLA!

ALL ABOUT ME- MY SENSES
Our class learned all about our five senses, They know that they are hearing, touch, taste, smell, and sight. We learned all about how it would be difficult to do any of these things without the specific body part that we use to do each of these things. The children tried listening to Morah say something while they had their ears covered and discovered that they couldn't hear anything. They also covered their eyes while trying to look at something Morah tried to show them and noticed that they couldn't do this either. Morah also brought in man things for them to touch and tell if it felt smooth, bumpy, rough, sticky etc. This was fun to do. We also took turns smelling all kinds of things that morah brought in to share with us. Some of the things smelled nice while other smelled stinky. Playing with instruments and listening to the different sounds they make was also so much for for all. The children now understand just how important all of these senses are and are more aware of what body parts are used for doing each one. We even learned that sometimes we even use more than one sense at a time!

TABLE TIME ACTIVITIES

Table time activities allow for the children to build up their fine motor skills as well as review numbers, letters, and other academic skills we have taught. This time of the day is very important as it allows for a lot of review and specific time given to the importance of building up fine motor skills needed.

Monday

Play Dough Fun.
Welcome to the month of December. We are so excited that we have come back to school. In the morning we played with play dough during table time. Friends made pizzas and birthday cakes, others made cars. During table time our goal was to push and rolling. We have been exploring with play dough and have been inventive with our creations.

Number 2

Who knows one? I know one!
One is the Hashem, one(1) is the Hashem, one (1) is the Hashem
In the heaven and the earth.

Who knows two? I know two (2)! Two (2) are the tablets that Moses brought.

We have reviewed about the number 1 and moved along to the number two. Students had to sort and find a Button with 2 holes.
We found 9 buttons that had 2 holes!

Outside Time!

Today the weather was terrific! We played outside and today we had a special visitor Morah Wanda! She came to play with us.
