Wow! What an exciting and fun filled week! Nursery 2 has been taking time this past week to adjust to being back at school and getting to learn the routines as well as the classroom rules. Morahs are so happy with how well they all are doing so far. For those who are still having a hard time adjusting, it takes time. We will work together as a team and try to make the adjustment period as seamless and short as possible.
Some of the things we did this week include playing with play dough, doing puzzles, arts and crafts, singing, dancing, and reading books. We took time this week to read The Kissing Hand. It's a book about a raccoon who doesn't want to go to school because he is afraid. His mother calms his fears and reassures him that he will have fun and she will see him afterwards. She takes his hand and kisses it on his palm and tells him that any time he feels sad while at school to take his hand and put it close to his heart and it will make him feel better, Our class discussed that sometimes when Mommy and Daddy leave us at school it can seem scary but that we need to remember that they will be picking us up at the end of the day. The children each made their own kissing hand to bring home. It may be good for those still having a difficult time toget a copy of this book and read it to them. They really enjoyed it.
Nursery 2 has begun learning all about Mitzvot and that Hashem gave us the Torah filled with all different kinds of Mitzvot to do. Please remember to send in Mitzvah notes and Tzedakah daily. It really gives the children a wonderful feeling to have them read out loud and see just how proud we are of them. It also helps as they see things we are learning about in school being reinforced at home too.
Baking Challah on Friday was a great way to end off the week. The kids really loved it! We hope you enjoyed them!
Just a few reminders. If you haven't already sent in pictures of your child or family, please do so as soon as you can. Having the pictures hanging in the room gives the children a feeling that the space (classrrom) is theirs when they see the familiar faces hanging on the wall. Please send in a change or two of clothing so we have extras in your childs cubby in case they get s wet or dirty during the course f the day. Remember to always have your child dressed for mess. We are busy and tend to get dirty at times and wouldn't want to ruin any special clothing. Always feel free to contact the Morahs if you feel you need to. We are here to work together as a team in order to make this year productive, successful, and enjoyable for all.
Looking forward to seeing what next week has in store!
