TU BSHVAT 

Our spent time learning all about the holiday of Tu Bshavt- the birthday of the trees. We know that it is celebrated on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shvat. At this time in Israel we know that the trees begin to bud their new fruits ad this marks the beginning of spring. We joined together with the entire preschool and had a birthday party for the trees. At the party we had a birthday cake for the trees and all had an opportunity to try to shivat haminim-the seven species. These are special fruits that are associated with Israel. We tasted some pomegranates, figs, dates, olives, grapes, wheat ad barley too. Te children really enjoyed themselves and the party was a blast!
